Zulum lays foundation for eye hospital in Biu

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, laying foundation for the eye and dental hospital in Biu, headquarters of Biu Local Council…at the weekend.

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has laid foundation for an eye and dental hospital in Biu Local Council. While laying the foundation, on Saturday, Zulum disclosed: “In fulfilment of our electioneering promise was to construct eye and dental hospitals in Borno South and Borno North senatorial districts,” stating that they will also complement the existing eye and dental hospitals in Borno Central.
  
According to the governor, the 56-bed capacity eye hospital will be completed by September this year. The eye hospital, he disclosed, will have two operational theatres, consulting rooms, administrative office complex, male and female wards, while the dental hospital has an edifice equipped with all the facilities needed to provide dental care to the people.
  
He said: “I want to direct the contractors to complete this project in six months, while ensuring all the required specifications are observed.” Zulum also announced the approval of funds to upgrade Biu General Hospital to specialist status. He charged contractors to comply with the terms of contracts.
