Zulum appoints 287 aides, board members

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has approved the appointment of 183 aides and 104 board members of commissions and agencies.

According to him, the 15 commissions and agencies are involved in various services to critical sectors in the state.


Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Bukar Tijjani, stated, yesterday: “The approved appointments comprise nine Senior Technical Assistants (STA), 81 Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and 78 Special Assistants (SAs).

“The 104 new appointees are chairmen and board members of 15 commissions and agencies mandated to assist Zulum deliver various services to the people.”

He noted that the 287 appointments were based on powers conferred on the governor by Section 208(2)d of the 1999 Constitution, as amended.

Zulum, therefore, congratulated the 187 appointees, expecting them to contribute their quota to the state’s development.
