Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was in Estonia Thursday on the second leg of a Baltic tour aimed at boosting flagging support for his country’s fight against Russia.
Zelensky arrived in Tallinn overnight along with his foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba, Estonian Foreign Affairs Minister Margus Tsahkna said on X, formerly Twitter.
“It’s a great honour to welcome good friends and allies, Volodymyr Zelensky and Dmytro Kuleba in Tallinn. We give a strong message and confirmation to Ukraine that Estonia stands firmly by their side, and together we will win this war,” Tsahkna wrote.
Zelensky appealed for badly needed air defence systems when he began his tour on Wednesday in Lithuania, warning that Western hesitation on aid for Ukraine was emboldening Russia.
“Sometimes the insecurity of partners regarding financial and military aid to Ukraine only increases Russia’s courage and strength,” he said.
“He (Putin) won’t finish this (war) until we all finish him together,” Zelensky added, warning that “Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Moldova may be next”.
Zelensky will end his tour of the three Baltic nations, all former Soviet republics and his staunch allies, in Latvia.
