Before storming off the stage, the singer said, “I’m representing Africa, this is too messed up. If the sound cannot be perfect for every artist that get on this stage… Africa is in the house and you are messing s**t up?”.

Although some netizens criticised him for leaving his fans who had taking out time and resources just to see him over an issue that was not peculiar to him, as other artists also performed with the same sound quality, others pointed out that Rema is an artist who takes his craft seriously and he is justified for throwing a tantrum over the sound quality of his performance, especially on an international stage.
