Wizkid supports Made Kuti at Love In The Shrine

It was a euphoric sight, last Friday, as Grammy-winning singer, Ayodeji Balogun, renowned as Wizkid, stepped into the New Afrika Shrine, in Lagos, with his entourage, to grace the Love In The Shrine valentine’s edition concert by Afrobeat royalty Made Kuti and his band, The Movement.

Prostrating before Made Kuti’s father, and his old-time collaborator, Femi Kuti, Wizkid made a grand entrance at the Shrine, where he has always had a special affiliation. Wizkid joined Made Kuti on stage, dancing to the singer’s array of hits including the continental bop Free Your Mind, while his manager, Sunday Are, alongside other associates flanked him.

Wizkid also hailed Made Kuti, recognizing the Fela Kuti offspring as one of the most progressive musicians of his generation. The duo (Made Kuti and Wizkid) later engaged in an affectionate ‘bromance’ on social media, thanking each other for their support.
