Uniabuja appoints Jaja as Adjunct Lecturer for Legislative Drafting programmes


Dr Tonye Jaja has been appointed by the University of Abuja as Adjunct Lecturer for Legislative Drafting Programme.


The appointment was announced Friday in a letter signed by the Director, of TETFUND Center for Leadership, University of Abuja, Professor Philip Afaha.

Dr Jaja will among other relevant courses, be lecturing on the Challenges of Legislative Drafting and Introduction to Law-Making.

The newly appointed lecturer, Jaja, was appointed based on his qualifications and cognate experience in Legislative Drafting.

The University of London awarded Dr Jaja a PhD in law degree specialising in Legislative Drafting. In addition to subject matter competence, Dr Jaja also possesses competence in applying information communication technology (ICT) in legal education having been awarded a certificate by the Center for Computer-aided Legal Education (CALI), USA, in the year 2016.


Dr Jaja was previously an instructor on the online postgraduate diploma in the Legislative Drafting programme of Athabasca University, Canada.

He was also the pioneer coordinator of the Online Postgraduate Diploma in Legislative Drafting programme of the National Institute for Legislative Studies, Abuja.

The appointment by the University of Abuja has only confirmed preeminence and leadership in the field of Legislative Drafting within the legal profession both in Nigeria and beyond.

Since 2017, Dr Jaja has served as the Secretary of the Association of Legislative Drafting and Advocacy Practitioners (ALDRAP) with it’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
