Flying Eagles forward Ibrahim Muhammad has dedicated his goal against Argentina to Nigeria’s new president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Flying Eagles defeated hosts of the 2023 U-20 World Cup Argentina 2-0 to reach the quarter-final.

Muhammad opened the scoring for the Flying Eagles in the 61st minute before Haliru Sarki made it 2-0 in the 91st minute.

Speaking after the game Muhammad stated that he and his teammates were not bothered playing against the hosts.

“I feel so happy as you can see this is my first goal at the World Cup so I’m very happy.

“We were never nervous before the game, we had the confidence and with the way football is there’s nothing like host country. And personally I dedicate my goal to our new president Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

The Flying Eagles will be back in action on Sunday when they will face either Ecuador or South Korea in the quarter-finals.
