Angry mob, yesterday, apprehended two suspected car snatchers and beat them to stupor for stabbing an e-hailing driver and attempted to flee with his car.

The Guardian learnt that the incident happened on Monday morning at Elekahia Stadium Road, in Obio/Akpor Local Council of Rivers State.

It was gathered that the hoodlums attempted to snatch a Toyota Corolla car from a Bolt driver after stabbing him.

However, the alarm raised by the driver attracted the mob, who beat the hoodlums to coma before arrival of the Police.

Confirming the development, spokesperson for Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe Koko said the suspects whose identities were yet to be known, stabbed the vehicle owner and attempted to rob him of his car.

She dismissed reports that the suspects died before the police intervened.

According to her, the suspects are in coma and are receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.
