Trinity University graduates 72 at maiden convocation

Trinity University, Yaba, has graduated 72 students from two faculties and eight disciplines at its combined maiden convocation for the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 academic sessions.


At the event, 20 graduating students of the five-year-old institution made first-class honours.

The institution also recognised and conferred honourary doctorate degrees on the Chief Executive Officer, Grandex Nigeria Limited and wife of former Oyo State governor, Mrs Florence Ajimobi and founder, SystemSpecs Limited, Dr John Obaro.

Speaking at the ceremony, Acting Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Clement Kolawole, said 31 per cent of the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 made the first class division.

He added that 46 per cent recorded Second Class Upper and 23 per cent were in the Second Class Lower division respectively.

The vice chancellor said Miss Okpala Chidera of Mass Communication department with CGPA of 4.85 emerged best graduating student in 2021/2022 set, while Miss Adewunmi Oyindamola of Biological Science with a CGPA of 4.88 came first in the 2022/2023 academic session.


He commended the graduates for working diligently over the last four years and for demonstrating their ability and willingness to profit from the services, academics, social and religious to which the university exposed them.
Kolawole charged them to make effort to become successful in whatever field of human endeavours they go into.

Founder and Chairman, Doyin Group of Companies, Prince Samuel Adedoyin, who was appointed the university’s Chancellor, expressed delight at his appointment, saying it is a call for him to do more for society and generation of youths.
He advised the graduands to carry the values of the institution with them and a relentless pursuit of knowledge.

Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the university governing council, Pastor Samuel Olatunji, described the graduands as the practical testimony of the university vision and values.

At the ceremony, first class graduates of the university were offered automatic employment by the school management.
