Director-General of Media and Publicity to the Governor of Kano State, Sunusi Tofa, has been honoured with the Most Outstanding Spokesperson Award by the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Information.
Tofa was selected for this esteemed award in recognition of his role in promoting not only the positive image of the Kano governor and his giant strides but also for effectively showcasing the only New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) state in the country.
The Jury Sub-Committee of the National Spokespersons Awards, established by the NIPR and the ministry, deemed Tofa as a deserving recipient of the 2024 Spokesperson (Executive Arm Category) among the array of spokespersons representing the executive arm of the government in Nigeria, which includes the Spokespersons the President, Vice President, ministers as well as departments and agencies.
The award took place at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja, with 11 categories of various awards after the maiden National Spokespersons Summit 2024 was declared open by Vice President Kashim Shettima. In his acceptance speech, Tofa expressed appreciation to his principal, to whom he dedicated the award, Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano.
