Tinubu urges Nigerian pilgrims to pray for peace, tability

President Bola Ahmad Tinubu has urged pilgrims from Nigeria to seek for peace, stability and developmental growth of Nigeria as the 2023 Hajj exercise winds down.


Besides, the president applauded the spiritual commitment of Nigerian pilgrims for the successful completion of all the fundamental rites during the pilgrimage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In a message delivered by Nigeria Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Alhaji Yahaya Lawal, Tinubu appealed to Nigerian pilgrims’ to remain worthy ambassador of the country in the holy and respect the diplomatic relations between Nigeria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Lawal, who spoke when he visited the pilgrims at the tent city of Muna, disclosed that the president was fully briefed about the commendable conduct of pilgrims in the Holy Land, just as he further enjoined the pilgrims to remain obedient and law-abiding citizens.

Earlier, the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan commended the pilgrims for their perseverance in the inadequate tents and poor feeding services they contended with on arrival at Muna on Monday.

Hassan explained that unpleasant behaviour could not completely be ruled out on any Hajj exercise, but reassured the readiness of NAHCON to mitigate such challenges.

Nigerian Consule-General in Jeddah, Board members of NAHCON, senior management staff of the commission were on the entourage of the Ambassador and the NAHCON Chairman on visit to Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Borno, Lagos and Adamawa States tents in Muna.
