Tinubu appoints new board for NEITI

President Bola Tinubu has approved the reconstitution of the National Stakeholders’ Working Group (NSWG) for the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI), according to a statement from the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

The spokesperson for Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Segun Imohiosen, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.

Imohiosen said the NSWG, which has the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. George Akume, as Chairman, includes the following members:

The NSWG members include the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Zacch Adedeji and the Group Chief Executive Officer of the NNPC Ltd Mele Kyari.

Other members of the NSW are Oghenegwueke Ajafia, representative of the Oil Producers Trade Section, Lagos Chamber of Commerce (OPTS); Dele Ayanleke, President of the Miners Association of Nigeria; and Engr. (Mrs.) Nkechi Isigwe, representative of Women/Geo-scientists.


Other include Comrade Williams Apkoreha, President of NUPENG; Barr. Musa Abdullahi Lawan, representative of the North-West Zone; Abubakar Mu’azu, representative of the North-East Zone; Amb. Matthew Sunday Adoli, representative of the North-Central Zone; Olasupo Abdel-Jeleel Taiwo, representative of the South-West Zone; Chief Israel Ikechukwu Ikwuegbu, representative of the South-East Zone; Dr. Stephen Leo Akpan, representative of the South-South Zone; and Dr. Orji Ogbonnaya Orji is Secretary to the NSWG.

The inauguration of the board will be announced in due course, Imohiosen added.
