The Guardian former Group Political Editor, Esajere buries wife July 23

A former Group Political Editor of The Guardian, Akpo Esajere and family have announced the burial of their wife, Sylvia. It is slated for Friday, July 23, 2021.

Sylvia, who was Sales and Distribution Manager of The Sun Newspapers, a staunch Christian whose life was a mirror and an inspiration to many, died on May 7, 2021 at 56.

While paying tributes to the late wife, Akpo, said: “I will miss her greatly as long as I live. She stood firmly by me as my pillar of strength. She was generous, loving and caring.


“I am grateful to have shared the best part of my life with her. Her teeming admirers are celebrating her passion for Christ. It is a legacy worthy of emulation.”

The funeral arrangements signed by Akpo indicate that an evening of tributes, music and prayers will be held in her honour on Friday, July 16 at Amazing Grace Pentecostal Church, Palmgrove Lagos, while a service of songs will hold on Wednesday, July 21 at her residence on 9, Olu Street, Off Ola Street, Oke-Ira, Ogba, Lagos.

Her remains will be interred on Friday, July 23, 2021 at her residence.
