Nigerian musician Tiwa Savage has filed a petition with the Lagos State Commissioner of Police against fellow artist Davido, alleging threats of assault and grievous bodily harm. In the petition dated January 9, 2024, Savage cites a December 23rd incident where Davido allegedly threatened her through a message to her manager, stating, “I will f-ck you up.”
Savage claims the threat stems from a now-deleted Instagram Story featuring herself and Sophia Momodu, Davido’s daughter’s mother. She asserts that Davido interpreted this as “taunting” and “disrespectful,” despite her maintaining a friendly relationship with Momodu.
“The events of that day have led to a barrage of calls from our mutual connections, asking me what I did to him that he’s upset that I chose to maintain a relationship with his daughter Imade’s mother, Sophia Momodu who he’s having issues with,” the petition states.
Savage expresses concern for her safety and requests police intervention, stating, “I, therefore, would like to make this complaint, and to state that in the event that anything untoward or harmful were to happen to me and member of my family, I will like the Nigerian Police Force to hold MR DAVID ADELEKE responsible.”
