Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa on Thursday made a heartfelt plea for peace in Plateau following the recent killings in the state.

As many as 30 people lost their lives in the early hours of Wednesday after gunmen attacked Kwahaslalek village in Mangu Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau.

Two other communities of Kinat and Mairana on the borders of Mangu and Barkin Ladi local government areas in the state also suffered attacks on the same day.

All these killings and attacks led to Musa making a heartfelt plea for peace in Plateau state with the Sivasspor winger calling on Nigerians for help.

“Our state is hurting, and we need to come together. The fights, the killings – it’s too much. We are all one big family, no matter our religion,” Musa wrote on X.

“Most families in Plateau have both Christians and Muslims. We should be celebrating our differences, not fighting because of them.

“Let’s ask our leaders to focus on what really matters: keeping us safe and bringing back the peace we once had. Plateau used to be known as the Home of Peace and Tourism. We want that back.”

Musa who is currently on duty with the Super Eagles at the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire also called on Nigerians to stand side by side, no matter their religion.

The former Leicester City attacker aslo charged Nigerians to hold hands, pray, and ask for peace because he believes “we can do this if we all work together.”
