Startup Act:  Anambra to domesticate legislation, engages stakeholders

Anambra State has begun moves towards the domestication of the Nigeria Startup Act (NSA), marking a significant milestone in the journey towards technological advancement in the state.


According to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Innovation and Business Incubation, Chinwe Okoli, the state has convened a two-day ecosystem stakeholders’ engagement and validation session, which brought together key stakeholders, government officials and industry players to discuss the adoption of this groundbreaking legislation and validate pertinent issues that should be considered.

Okoli noted that the event witnessed the presence of dignitaries, such as the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim; Commissioners for Industry, Christian Udechukwu; Youth Development, Patrick Aghamba; Budget and Economic Planning,  Chiamaka Nnake; Managing Director, Anambra State Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Agency.

Fred Agbata; Managing Director of Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency(ANSIPPA), Mark Okoye; State Adoption Lead of the NSA, Tracy Okoro and other stakeholders from the academia, hub founders, startups, tech community, and others.

Speaking at the event, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, stressed the need for the state to embrace technology urgently and become champions of positive disruption and leaders of global technology revolution.
