Stakeholders to brainstorm on new strategies for aviation growth

Worried by the challenging times in the air transport sector, aviation stakeholders will meet at the conference of League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC) to find new strategies to common problems.


The conference, themed: ‘Aviation industry: Changing times, changing strategies’, will focus on emerging changes in the approach to aviation business, with special attention on technology, airline management and operations, financing and other aspects of the aviation industry.

The organising committee hinted that over 250 industry professionals, cutting across aviation, security agencies, international and domestic airlines operating in Nigeria, aviation support services, travel trade sellers, and buyers in the country’s aviation industry, are expected at the conference slated July 27, 2023, in Lagos.

The programme will feature presentations by speakers and a panel session to address issues bedeviling the sector in line with the theme. Key players have already confirmed their participation. They include: the Director-General, Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), Akin Olateru; the Director-General Civil Aviation (DGCA), Capt. Musa Nuhu; Director-General, Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET), Prof. Mansur Matazu; Acting Managing Director, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Matthew Pwajok; the Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Capt. Rabiu Yadudu and the Rector, Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, Capt. Alkali Madibbo.

Others are the Group Managing Director, Finchglow Travels, Bernard Bankole; President, Aviation Safety Round Table Initiative (ASRTI), Dr. Gabriel Olowo; the Chairman, Air Peace Airlines, Allen Onyema and Chairman, United Nigeria Airlines, Dr. Obiora Okonkwo.
