Stakeholders harp on business financing in African Beauty Industry

Stakeholders in the beauty industry have amplified the need for business financing, financial technology and supply chain in navigationg the sector.

This was at the fourth edition of Traction’s business and networking forum, themed “Beauty Biz Roundtable: Unlocking Growth in the Beauty Sector”, in Lagos. Traction, a growth partner for Small and Mesdium-sized Enterprise (SME) collaborated with Oriki, a beauty and wellness company on the project.


According to a starement, the forum focused on the changing economic landscape and its impact on customer engagement and behavior. Participants and business experts also exchanged ideas and solutions on how to access opportunities such as business financing, advisory, product quality, wealth preservation and appropriate business coverage.

Co-founder, Traction Dolapo Adejuyigbe, said, “Although our key business focus is to provide payment solutions and business tools to support the growth of businesses in Africa, we are also passionate about grooming a community of thriving MSMEs in Nigeria from as many sectors as possible, where ideas and solutions are exchanged amongst business owners. The Beauty and lifestyle sector is a fast growing one and Traction is happy to be one of the platforms supporting that growth.”

The forum was a meeting point for owners and managers in the Beauty industry to discuss pertinent issues and trends impacting Nigerian businesses. The interactive session featured speakers from the African beauty & Wellness sector such as; Founder, Beauty in Lagos, Ezinne Alfa; Founder, Tasala, Dupe Talabi; Founder, DANG Lifestyle, Ifedayo Agoro; Founder, Nuban, Stella Ndekile.

While the conference was centered on the beauty and lifestyle sector, most of the solutions proffered are applicable to other business categories. Alfa and Ndekile expounded on business growth and expansion. Agoro engaged in the efficient procurement of materials and resources for production while Talabi shed light on running an efficient staff base to boost business growth.
