The Mandate Movement (TMM) has appealed to Nigerians to exercise patience with the current administration to reap the dividends of democracy.

The group made the call during a media briefing to herald its rebranding and restructuring.

It would be recalled that TMM is a progressive mobilisation platform established in 1998 to galvanise campaigns to all the nooks and crannies of the country. Renowned politicians, technocrats and professionals are members of the group.

Speaking at the briefing, where the  377 ward coordinators, 57 local council coordinators, 57 women leaders, 57 youth leaders met, the State Apex Leader – Cardinal James Odunmbaku, said the forum was necessary to maintain the tempo of the group’s activities and assist the government in enlightening the public on policies and programme of the government.

He appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the current economic conditions. “The house was almost collapsing, we are rebuilding and it will not take long before Nigerians begin to enjoy the largesse of democracy,” he said.

He added that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is resolute in building the country’s sustainably.

“ TMM is very solid. It has a strong track records to mobilise for votes and win elections. It is quite unfortunate that we lost Lagos during the presidential election, but it will never happen again because President Tinubu is going for a second term,” he said.

He advised the loyal members of the group to continue working for the success of the party, as they will reap their hard work, noting that the group has gained recognition globally.

“The restructuring of the group is to attain its new goals and members who work selflessly will be rewarded,” he added.

The Deputy Apex Leader of Lagos TMM –  KolawolePeregrino, urged Nigerians to give the present administration time to fix the economy, acknowledging that Nigerians were going through economic hardship.

“Tinubu is working hard to reposition the country’s economy and restore its lost glory.

“ the major call of the meeting is for members to recruit more people. Let’s follow the rules and ethical creed of the group. Those who have the feeling that they will be removed from the renewed Mandate Movement, we assure you, that will not happen. All we want is your loyalty to President Bola Tinubu.”
AdefunmilayoTejuoso said TMM was in support of the progress of Nigeria .

She said: “Let’s go and mobilise people. We are the president’s representatives and must tell people to be patient because Rome was not built in a day.

“We cannot build Nigeria in a day. It is a gradual process and by the grace of God, President Tinubu would move Nigeria to a greater height. “Our president is a man of honour. He feels the pain and wants to make Nigeria great again. We have absolute confidence in him and that is why we can stand proudly today to say we are the Mandate.”

She assured that very soon, the naira would appreciate very well against foreign currencies.
“We are very confident that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the workable blueprints to fix the country. The measures he used to make Lagos State great is the same method that he will use to make Nigeria great and he is using it.”

“We can see that he does not tolerate any form of corruption, wherever there is news of corruption, he moves in immediately. He is not sentimental and not tribalistic at all, he is bent on moving Nigeria forward.

Let’s do our work as Messengers of Hope, let’s go to our various local government to mobilize people and preach the gospel of Hope, we of Mandate stock are great mobilizers,” she said.
