Soludo tasks Muslims on peace, love

Charles Chukwuma Soludo

Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, played host to the Muslim community in the state, led by the Vice President-General of Jama’atu Nasril Islam, Anambra branch, Alhaji Sani Ejoh,  as the faithful broke the daily Ramadan fast together at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, Awka South Local Council Area.

Speaking, Soludo commended the members of the Muslim community for their exemplary conduct, congratulating them for the successful fasting period, and looked forward to a successful Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

He reminded the Muslims that the period of the holy month of fasting not only calls for the purification of minds but also serves as a moment of re-awakening to all Muslim faithful. According to him, the period should usher in peace and joy in the land.

Soludo, who is the awardee of the “Father of Ecumenism” in the state due to his stern beliefs and consistent practice in ecumenism, reminded his guests that Anambra remains a home irrespective of one’s religious beliefs or inclinations.

Meanwhile, the National Deputy Director-General of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Alhaji Siddiki Gidado, has called for consolidation of the bond of unity, love and harmonious existence between Christians and Muslims.

Gidado, who made the call in his Ramadan message in Awka, yesterday, hailed the Muslim faithful for successfully observing the period for devotion of time to God and prayer to gain higher spiritual strength, as well as moral standards to usher in the Sallah celebration.

While hailing the Muslim faithful on the occasion of concluding the Ramadan fast, he charged them to use the period as an opportunity for self-reflection and pray for the country.
