SNCEV, CAN president chart way forward for Nigeria

The Southern Nigeria Christian Elders Vanguard recently had a meeting with the President of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), His Eminence, Most Rev. Daniel Okoh in Asaba, Delta State, where the cleric urged the Elders to always pray for Nigeria, especially now that things are not going as everyone had expected.

Arguing that rough times are always ahead of smooth sailing, he called on Nigerians not to lose hope on the nation and to continue to intercede for God’s intervention.

Responding, the leader of the group, Most Rev. Isaac Nwaobia, who is also the archbishop of Aba Ecclesiastical Province and Bishop, Diocese of IsialaNgwa South Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), informed the CAN President that security challenge is bedeviling the country right now, adding that it has made everyone to live in fears and also heightened the condition of living.

While appealing to President Bola Tinubu to find a lasting solution to insecurity and the economic hardship faced in country, Nwaobia said: “Security and food are two major things that can be enjoyed by everyone in a nation. We know that sectional security outfits will not help the nation rather police and army should be encouraged to do their work and not being partisan in any way.”

The group also used the occasion to pray for CAN President, those who have lost their beloved ones in the hands of bandits at one time or the other and all Nigerians. The Elders also honoured the CAN President, His Eminence, Most Rev. Daniel Okoh,with the award of “The Grand Crusader of Christian Faith” (GCCF).
