Operatives of the Rivers State Command have located and exhumed the body of Gift Okpara ‘M,’ also known as 2baba, the prime suspect in the murder of former Divisional Police Officer(DPO) Ahaoda Division, late SP. Bako Angbashim on September 8, 2023, in Odumude community, Ahoada East Local Council of the state.
The State Police Commissioner, Olatunji Disu, disclosed that the tactical operatives in the early hours of Friday, based on credible information, successfully located the shallow grave of the notorious Iceland cult leader in Ebrass, Ahoada West, Rivers State.
Parading the corpse at the Command’s Headquarters on Moscow Road, yesterday, Disu stated that it is crucial for citizens to recognise the importance of collaboration and support in the fight against crime.
He urged the public to continue providing the police with timely and accurate information that can aid in identifying and apprehending criminals.
The state police boss also assured the residents of the state that the Police Command remains committed to the safety and security of the state, adding that they will continue operations to apprehend other members of 2baba’s gang and dismantle any remaining criminal networks.
Disu, who called on the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities, expressed appreciation to the Inspector General of Police, IGP KayodeEgbetokun; the Governor of Rivers State, SiminalayiFubara, all officers of the command and residents of the state for the success.
