Skepta Cancels Retirement; Releases Album ‘Knife & Fork’

Popular rapper Skepta has canceled his early rap retirement, and also releases a fresh album titled “Knife and Fork.” The UK rapper shared a sneak peek of the first single, “Gas Me Up,” set to drop later this month.


Taking to his “X” account, formerly Twitter, he said;
“It’s been years since I dropped my last album and I want to thank you for all the love during my hiatus. I’ve seen the messages, tweets and Tik Toks, I’m truly grateful that my music is still resonating with the world even in my absence.
I’m happy to announce my next studio album #KnifeAndFork is loading, the first single #GasMeUp (Diligent) will be out January 26th

After bidding farewell to rap in 2021, marking the end with the EP “All In,” Skepta is ready for a new chapter. The upcoming album is expected to make waves, with the first single hitting the airwaves on January 26th.

Despite his retirement from rapping, Skepta kept the creative flame alive by DJing and producing house records, including a tribute to Amy Winehouse titled “Can’t Play Myself.” The haunting track features a beautiful sample from Winehouse’s 2006 hit “Tears Dry on Their Own.”
