Singer Coco Lee Dies by Suicide


Hong Kong-born singer Coco Lee was found dead in her home in Los Angeles on Wednesday. She was 48 years old.

The Los Angeles Police Department said that Lee’s death was a suicide. No further details were released.


Lee was a popular singer in Hong Kong and Asia, and she had a successful career in the United States as well. She released her debut album in 1994, and she went on to win numerous awards, including the Golden Melody Award for Best Female Singer in 2000.

Lee was also an actress, and she appeared in films such as “The Accidental Spy” and “Kung Fu Hustle.”

In 1997, Lee was named Chanel’s first brand ambassador in Asia. She was the face of the brand’s perfume and cosmetics campaigns, and she helped to introduce Chanel to a new generation of Asian consumers.
