“Out of Breath” has assembled an impressive cast of legendary actors from the Nigerian film industry.

The cast includes veteran actors like Kanayo O. Kanayo, Ebele Okaro, Obi Okoli, Chidi Mokeme, Jide Kene Achufusi, Queen Nwokoye, Chineye Ndebe, and Echelon Mbadiwe.

“It’s based on a true story and completely in the African Igbo language — I first heard about this extinct tradition when I was seven years old. It kind of haunted me for a couple of years after. However, variations of this tradition exist in several countries.”

Overall, the combination of Godson’s immersive score, Emelonye’s exceptional vision, the talented cast, and the film’s compelling subject matter suggests that “Out of Breath” has the potential to be a breakout success that will captivate audiences and make a lasting impact.

He, however, shared the journey. “I had a personal challenge early on while writing the score. I felt lots of love and support. Everyone was supportive, including the director.

“The exciting part was working with Obi and the post-production team again. It feels like a sort of family where we push ourselves pretty hard.”

He acknowledged the role of his team. “At the thick of it, we would be discussing a scene at 2 AM, and I’d be getting files at 3 AM,” he recalled. “Amazing humans who have so much passion for movies and who give their all.”

Voices and breaths, says Godson, play a big part in the music and sound design. It varies from “in your face” blaring to inaudible.

Indeed, Godson’s versatility and expertise as a film composer and sound designer have earned him a reputation for delivering exceptional work in a wide range of film genres.

His ability to seamlessly blend original compositions and ethereal sound design has kept film lovers fully immersed while binge-watching their favorite series.

“Obi Emelonye was present throughout the entire process, from preproduction to the music writing, he was fully involved. While we were recording sounds and instruments in Imo State, Nigeria, I’d send our recordings to him, and we’d discuss them. I think his vision ultimately shows in the music as well ” Godson expressed enthusiastically.

Indeed, his remarkable track record in the film industry, both locally and internationally, is a testament to his dedication and passion for his craft.

This time, with “Out of Breath,” Godson has taken his craft to a whole new height. “I think you’d be amazed at what we were able to do with this film,” he promised.
