Sanwo-Olu, Speaker, others greet Muslims at Ramadan fasting

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has felicitated with Muslim faithful across the country, especially in Lagos State, on the commencement of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

He urged Muslims to use the fasting period to pray for peace in Nigeria and Lagos in particular, adding that the Ramadan period should be used to exhibit the best virtues that Islam teaches.

Sanwo-Olu, in a statement, yesterday, implored Muslims, as well as Christians and other religious groups, to demonstrate love, tolerance, empathy, compassion and peaceful coexistence in this month of Ramadan, which coincides with the church Lenten season.


IN the same vein, Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has said that the 30-day Islamic fasting affords Muslim faithful the opportunity to rededicate themselves to religious tenets of piety, tolerance, forgiveness and love.

The Speaker, in his Ramadan message released by his Chief Press Secretary, Eromosele Ebhomele, also congratulated Muslims in Lagos and Nigeria for having the divine privilege of being alive to observe one of the five pillars of Islam.

ALSO, Lagos State House of Assembly Muslim Community has charged Muslim faithful to do more of assisting the needy among others throughout the Holy month of Ramadan fasting as prescribed by the Qu’ran.

The Council of Imams gave the charge, yesterday, at the first day of Ramadan lecture held at the Assembly Mosque, Alausa, Ikeja, led by Sheikh Al-Imam Abdush-Shakur Adeleke Osoala.

The Council urged Muslim brothers and sisters to use the month to also pray for peace in the country.

SIMILARLY, Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, yesterday, felicitated with Muslim faithful in the state, especially the public servants, for witnessing another blissful month of Ramadan.

Muri-Okunola, in his congratulatory message, stated that this period of Ramadan is a time 𝘵𝘰 rededicate lives more in prayers and devotion to the Almighty Allah.

He, however, implored all Muslim faithful to imbibe the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
