Rerun: ADP laud Mutfwang, INEC, on victory in Jos North Senatorial seat


The opposition Action Democratic Party (ADP) has applauded the role played by Governor Caleb Manasseh which ensured the victory of its candidate, Mr Pam Nwadkon Dachungyang in the Jos North Senatorial district contest.


ADP’s National Chairman, Engr Yabagi Sani at a press conference in Abuja also applauded the independent national electoral commission (INEC) over the free and fair manner the poll was conducted.

The ADP chief particularly applauded the Plateau State ADP Chairman, Mr Bitrus Boyi, the ADP State Working Committee, the constituents of Jos North Senatorial District who were instrumental for the feat achieved by the party.

He noted: “We are indeed pleased to note that the election was free, fair, credible, and peaceful, so we commend INEC for its dedication to upholding the democratic process. Let me bring to our notice that our party’s flagbearer, Prince Pam Nwadkon Dachungyang emerged victorious after a clean sweep of 122,442 votes after beating nine other candidates.

“We thank our friends, well-wishers and political groups. As we celebrate our own, we call on those who ran the race with us not to despair but consider this in the interest of sportsmanship as a game. We can play it again and again.


” Furthermore, the ADP acknowledges and commends the efforts of the Police and other Security Agencies for their exemplary role in ensuring the peaceful conduct of the election. The party recognizes the crucial role played by these agencies in maintaining law and order, and expresses gratitude for their dedication to ensuring a secure electoral environment.

“This is a humongous national service which all well-meaning Nigerians must appreciate. ADP is also grateful for the exemplary leadership and statesmanship demonstrated by the Plateau State Governor, His Excellency Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang by ensuring peace and stability during the electoral process. The party recognizes the governor’s efforts in fostering an environment conducive to peaceful elections and extends its appreciation to his commitment to the well-being of the people of Plateau State. Now the journey towards building a peaceful and prosperous Plateau has begun. We promise to be part of the process and give all we can to help the Home of Peace and Tourism.We assure the people of Plateau North Senatorial District, and indeed Nigeria an effective representation at the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly. The party is committed to the task of building a peaceful, united, and progressive Nigeria and pledges to work tirelessly for the betterment of the nation.”

The party thereby called on the senator-elect Prince Pam Dachungyang to uphold the tenets and the political philosophy of the Action Democratic Party especially its belief in the rule of law.
