FOLLOWING the National Universities Commission’s (NUC) mandatory resource assessment visit to proposed academic programmes of the Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State, the regulatory body has finally given a nod to the university to run the Postgraduate Diploma and Master’s Degree in Management Studies, effective from the 2015/2016 academic session.
This was made known by the NUC in a letter signed by the Director of Academic Standards, Dr. Gidado Kumo on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the commission, Professor Julius Okojie.
In the letter headlined ‘Re: Resource Assessment Visit to Proposed Academic Programmes’, the commission stated that “The Vice Chancellor would kindly recall that resource evaluation visit was carried out by panel of experts to some proposed academic programmes of the university, with a view to assessing the human and material resources available for their establishment.
“I am directed to inform you that Management Committee, at its 457th meeting held on the 12th of August, 2015 considered and approved the establishment of Management PGD, MSc programmes to be run in the campus of the University only, effective from 2015/2016 academic session.
“The University is enjoined to provide adequate human and material resources for the development and growth of the programme.”
