The Chief Executive Officer, Purplestone, Lillian Agbakoba, has disclosed that the brand is providing sustainable centralised platform to help small and medium enterprises reach their consumers in Nigeria and across the globe.

Addressing journalists during the Lagos launch recently, she said Purplestonemall.com online shopping platform otherwise known as Purplestone Mall or Purplestone, would enable individuals and businesses buy and sell goods in the same online shopping space.


With a flexible payment system that has great utility, she expressed optimism that Purplestone entry into the digital market space would support the 67 per cent ambitious and industrious youth entrepreneurs in Nigeria to expand their geographical reach, grow their customer base and achieve high sales turnover.

Making reference to Alibaba, which emerged from a small humble beginning in China into a global brand, she said Purplestone management is determined to satisfy the needs of teeming consumers in the country, whilst growing market share to a pre-eminent position in the global e-commerce market


Specifically, she disclosed that two main audiences are targeted: the shop owner and the buyer or consumer.

According to her, “Purplestone is a multi-vendor system with capacity to hold thousands of vendors and hundreds of thousands of products. Our unique advantage locally, is that we have much more capacity than others, to take on board various items to suit consumer needs. Our digital capacity is second to none. We do know that SME’s have been identified as the engine room of developing economies. We at Purplestone, are determined to partner with this crucial sector of our economy towards satisfying basic consumer needs.”

Having operated in Abuja in the past few months and with positive feedback, she said there was a need to outdo the services in Lagos and indeed West Africa.


Designed and developed to suit the Business to Business to Customer (B-B-C) in mind, she added that Purplestone is also providing a one-stop shopping platform to enable stores showcase and expand their products and services online.

Conclusively, she said Purplestone covers various categories of stores and businesses including children’s fashion, baby products, men and women’s fashion wear, sports wear and products, electronics, home and kitchen appliances, phones and tablets, LED and LCD televisions, home furniture and furnishings, lifestyle health products, property letting and many other categories.
