The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State, yesterday, said that Governor Abdullahi Sule and his All Progressives Congress (APC) would not withstand the political tsunami of Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly elections.

Director, David Ombugadu Governorship Campaign Organisation, Labaran Maku, gave the hint at his country home in Akwanga.

The former Minister of Information and two-time governorship candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) said the united force behind the PDP in the state could only be likened to a tsunami that will not spare the ruling party and its misrule.

He said: “The people of Nasarawa State told us they have been waiting for us to unite so they can queue behind us.

“Today, we are in one ship. God and the people are for the PDP in Nasarawa State. David Ombugadu, with his antecedents of developmental leadership, will take Nasarawa State to its dreamed land.

“The PDP in Nasarawa is for all. The APC is the one playing religious and ethnic politics. In my family, we are both Muslims and Christians. Anybody insinuating that the PDP is using religion to campaign is a big lie.

“We advise the governor to start preparing his exit speech.”

Meanwhile, contrary to a publication alleging that the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) gubernatorial candidate has stepped down for Governor Sule, Director-General, Abdullahi Maidoya Campaign Organisation, Innocent Lagi, has refuted the trending news.

Lagi said that the NNPP, Social Democratic Party (SDP) and other political parties only formed a merger and did not step down for the APC.

“At a press conference, we clearly stated that we are only forming a merger and would come with our candidate in later time.

“Let me make it clear again that we did not and we are not stepping down for Governor Sule or APC. We have formed merger and our candidate will be announced before the Saturday governorship poll,” he said.

He, therefore, urged NNPP supporters to ignore any news or insinuation making the rounds that the party has stepped down for APC.
