Street-pop sensation Portable has publicly called out colleagues Asake and Zlatan Ibile, accusing them of stealing his song and the signature line, “Omo Ologo Dia.”
In a viral video, Portable asserted his claim to the slang’s origin and expressed disappointment that Asake and Zlatan chose to remix his song without collaborating with him.
Portable said: “I originated the slang ‘Omo Ologo Dia Ni.’ Instead of Asake and Zlatan doing a remix of my song, they could have just called me and Freezzle to collaborate.”
Portable’s outspoken nature has made him a notable figure in the street-pop scene, with a history of clashes with other artists.
In another video, Portable disclosed the genesis of the lyric, saying, “Omo Ologo Dia” came to be when his artist, Freezzle, released the song featuring him.
He expressed surprise that Asake and Zlatan, despite listening to his street pop, criticized him and refrained from working with him.
Recall, The Guardian had previously reported that, Asake turned down Portable’s for a collaboration in his breakthrough song “Zazu,” where he featured Olamide.
Fans therefore are of the opinion that this may be the reason he (Portable) have been heavily critical of Asake, but on the surface, nothing seems clear and Zlatan on the other hand is yet to make any official statement concerning the allegations.
