Police raid kidnappers’ den in Imo, recover four corpses

Operatives of the Imo State Police Command, yesterday, raided the hideout of some kidnappers, at Okohia Forest, Owerri West Local Council of the state.


During the raid, seven suspected members of the gang were arrested. Also, four decomposing corpses, thought to belong to their victims, were recovered. Other recovered items included: telephones, wrist watches, shoes, slippers etc.

Led by the Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, the operatives launched the operation, in conjunction with the Association of Nigerian Hunters and the Imo State Vigilante Services. Speaking to newsmen, Danjuma reiterated commitment to rid the state of criminally minded elements.

According to him, the command, under his watch, will continue the raid across all suspected criminal hideouts in the state, until men of the underworld are wiped out.

He added: “Just this morning, we recovered about four unidentified corpses as well as other items. We are going to focus our operation in this forest, and by God’s grace, all the hoodlums and kidnappers will be cleared. As you have seen, we arrested about seven people this morning, and they are going to face the full wrath of the law.”
