The Lagos State Police Command has clarified the order on the restriction of movement during the bye-elections scheduled for Saturday, February 3, 2024.

Lagos Police spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement, said the restriction of movement would only affect Surulere Federal Constituency I.

Hundeyin, however, noted that Funsho Williams Avenue will be free for passage only.

He emphasised that movement into and out of feeder roads off Funsho Williams Avenue will not be permitted.

He reiterated that other parts of Lagos State are not affected by the restriction of movement in Surulere Federal Constituency I.

The re-run and by-election billed for Saturday, 3 February 2024 will take place across 26 states in 80 local governments across Nigeria.

The elections are for vacancies created by the resignation, death, and removal of lawmakers via post-election litigation.
