Kaduna State Police Command has launched full-scale investigation into the death of Felix Blaise, the 15-year-old student of Air Force Comprehensive School, Kaduna who was allegedly tortured by fellow schoolmates.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Audu Ali Dabigi, earlier directed the Homicide Section of the Criminal Investigation Department to conduct a thorough investigation into the case.
Reacting to the development, the uncle of the late Blaise, Mr. Paul Wazimtu, expressed delight over the assurance given by the police.
He emphasized that it is not just about his nephew but about serving justice as a deterrent to other students, not only in the school but across the country.
“Justice must be served to prevent such tragic incidents in the future,” he said.
Mr. Wazimtu commended the Commandant and Management of Air Force Comprehensive School, Kaduna, for handling the matter professionally and assured the police of maximum support during the investigation.

The family of Felix Blaise had previously called for justice, urging the school and the Nigerian Air Force to intensify efforts to uncover the circumstances that led to his death.
Speaking to journalists, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Kaduna Command, ASP Hassan Mansir, stated that the Commissioner of Police assures that the case will be handled with the utmost professionalism and integrity.
Mansir urged all well-meaning members of the public and stakeholders to remain calm and allow the investigation to proceed without interference.
He also noted that the CP has directed a crack team of detectives from the Homicide Section to commence an investigation immediately and ensure that the culprits are brought to justice.

Already, Nigerian Air Force authorities have commenced investigation into the death of the Assistant Head Boy of Air Force Secondary School in Kaduna, Felix Blaise.
The deceased allegedly died after some Senior Secondary Three (SS3) students of the school tortured him, prompting his family to demand justice.
The Guardian learnt that the incident occurred in the dormitory of the school at Air Force Base in Mando, Kaduna. It was gathered that the 15-year-old’s family and church community believed his death was linked to bullying and torture by the senior students.
