Oyo to open newly constructed Ogun River Bridge, road soon

Oyo State government has said that the 34.8km Oyo-Fasola-Iseyin Road and the newly constructed Ogun River Bridge Road will be re-opened to traffic soon.

The Commissioner for Public Works and Transports, Professor Dahud Sangodoyin, disclosed this while speaking with journalists during an inspection of the 34.8 Km Oyo-Fasola-Iseyin Road construction, which started in 2021.

Sangodoyin, while lauding Governor Seyi Makinde for his relentless effort to improve the state agriculture and economy through the construction of good roads, urged citizens to always protect the public facilities, to avoid unnecessary repairs.

“We are here to inspect the level of work that has been done in the last three weeks because we were here twenty- two days ago. Most especially, we want to see the readiness of this bridge to ease the traffic. We found out that they have done it, but there is still some little things they need to do before they open it to traffic; to test the strength of the bridge itself and to see if we have natural compassion, otherwise I’m satisfied with the level of work they have done.”

The Project Manager, KOPEK Construction Company, Ayman Zaknour, said that they are finalising the work on the bridge to allow traffic on the road.

Similarly, the Commissioner and the Pro-Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Professor Ayodeji Omole, went on an inspection tour to the Iseyin Satellite Campus of the university in preparation for the students’ resumption on the campus.

The Pro-chancellor said that there is still a need for some adjustment on the projects, saying that he is satisfied at the level of work done so far.
