Astrid Wett, an adult content creator, has caused a stir online after posting a bizarre twerking video claiming she is “19% Nigerian.”
The video was shared on social media ahead of Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations semi-final match against South Africa.
The tense semi-final match between Nigeria and South Africa ended in a 1-1 draw in normal time, with Victor Osimhen’s late goal controversially ruled out.
South Africa managed to equalize with a penalty, forcing the game into extra-time and eventually a penalty shootout. Kelechi Iheanacho’s winning spot-kick secured Nigeria’s place in the final, knocking out South Africa’s Bafana Bafana.
However, amidst the football drama, Astrid Wett’s attention-grabbing social media post caught the eye of many. In the video, Wett is seen wearing a Super Eagles jersey, short Calvin Klein shorts, and draped in a green and white flag, while twerking and dancing provocatively.
Wett, known for her outrageous online persona, captioned the video: “POV: You find out you’re 19% Nigerian,” accompanied by a green heart emoji and a Nigeria flag. The post got mixed reactions, with some finding it amusing while others deemed it inappropriate and disrespectful.
Despite Nigeria’s victory on the pitch, Wett’s controversial video stirred up further debate among fans. The match itself saw William Troost-Ekong and Teboho Mokoena scoring second-half penalties for their respective teams.
