Ondo takes delivery of new security pickups, trucks

The Ondo State government has consolidated its security apparatus with fresh acquisition of pickups, DFM buses and Light trucks from the stable of CIG Motors Nigeria, distributors of GAC Motor in the country.

The deal marked a new milestone for CIG Motors Nigeria as they set sail for a new course in collaboration with the Ondo State government.

The government took delivery of the vehicles last Thursday at an official handover ceremony held at the Government House, Akure.

Speaking at the event, the General Manager Commercial and Group Head Communications of CIG Motors, Mr. Jubril Arogundade, who represented the Chairman of the firm, Chief Diana Chen, said the company would set up an after sales service centre in Ondo following the conclusion of the deal.

“The importance of today’s mission being the handover of these security pickups is one that is highly regarded in our company’s vision to become the automobile company of choice for organisations and individuals who are interested in dealing with authenticity.

As part of our drive to deliver in all capacity, we will be setting up an after-sales service centre in Ondo State,” he said.

He explained that CIG Motors was truly invested in the future of mobility and innovation that aids development in Nigeria, adding: “We have continued to strengthen these values through strategic partnerships and collaborations such as this one while delivering excellent value, which is our primary goal. We are grateful to the Ondo State government for their trust in our brand, for our product and our capacity to deliver.”

According to him, CIG Motors has since coming into the Nigerian automobile market proven itself to be a trustworthy brand, which delivers quality at the best rate and is committed to embracing the Nigerian spirit of excellence.

In his remarks, the state Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, urged the firm to fast track the setting up of its after sales centre in the state, saying the government was poised to purchase more vehicles from them. The governor also proposed to provide land for the centre.

The Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, in his speech, thanked the governor for the initiative, which is meant to empower the 18 local councils of the state with state-of-the-art pickups for security operations.
