Ahead of the November 16 Ondo state governorship poll, the national chairman of the Action Democratic party (ADP), Engr. Yabagi Sani has decried the marginalization of the youths in the governance of the state.

Speaking Presentation of expression of interest and nomination forms to a gubernatorial aspirant of the party , Mr Ayodeji Emmanuel Akinnodi, he maintained that every individual, regardless of age, gender, or disability, should have an equal opportunity to realize their dreams. Sani remarked that it was unfortunate that the youth of the nation have been consistently overlooked, with successive governments failing to fulfill promises that would positively impact their lives.

The Niger state born politician argued that the current high levels of insecurity in Nigeria, with frequent attacks on the citizenry in both urban and rural settings, are a direct consequence of the neglect of youths in the affairs of governance of the nation.

He said the recent election in Senegal, where 44-year-old Bassirou Diomaye Faye was elected as the 5th President, should serve as a source of inspiration to the electorates in not only Ondo , the nigeria as a whole.

“We believe that empowering young individuals to assume leadership roles is a crucial step towards resolving our current challenges. They bring energy and fresh perspectives that can transform governance,” he said.

“The nation is eager to break free from the status quo of inertia. What Nigeria needs now is effective leadership that can propel us forward.

“President Faye represents the potential for social transformation, economic development, and a peaceful and prosperous Senegal. He has become a symbol of democracy, not only for his nation but for all who cherish democratic values worldwide. As Africa’s youngest president, President Faye has the responsibility to set a new standard for governance and to inspire young leaders across the continent, including our own gubernatorial aspirant.”
He thereby urge the people of Ondo State to support Akinnodi who is young, dynamic, and committed to transforming the fortunes of the Sunshine State.
