NURTW: Lagos branch congratulates Baruwa on industrial court victory 

Lagos State Council of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has congratulated Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa on his affirmation by the National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN) as authentic President of the state’s chapter.
 
The congratulatory message followed a judgment delivered by Justice O. O Oyewumi of the NICN in Abuja on March 11, 2024, in a suit, NICN/Abj/263/2023, involving Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa and 13 others vs Najeem Usman Yasin and six others. 

Baruwa was proclaimed the legitimate elected president of the union for a second term. The court also granted all the reliefs sought by the claimants except in relief 1 in the originating summons.    Secretary of the Lagos council of the union, Seyi Bankole, in a statement, described the latest judicial pronouncement as a landmark victory for the rule of law. and a testament that the leadership of the union strongly holds the Nigeria judiciary in high esteem.
 
The secretary said the affirmation of Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa’s victory has put to rest all doubts about the legitimate leader of the NURTW.
