Nigerian Gen Zs turning to streaming platforms for a modern way to worship-Spotify reveals

Audio streaming platform, Spotify has revealed that Gen Z are now turning to streaming platforms for a modern way of worship.


It revealed that Nigerian Gen Z’s Christian podcast streams on Spotify has surged by 482% between 2022 and 2024 and Nigerian Gen Zs pay more attention to gospel related programmes on the platform.

It also revealed that Nigerian Gen Z’s Gospel music streams on Spotify surged 1228% between 2022 and 2024.


Nigerian Gen Zs have also created over 140,000 gospel playlists on Spotify

Nathaniel Bassey, Moses Bliss, Maverick City Music, Dunsin Oyekan, Ebuka Songs are the most streamed gospel artistes global and local markets among Gen Z in Nigeria in the last 90 days while Sunmisola Agbebi song, B’Ola – Honour; Ebuka Songs, Calling My Name (I’m A Soldier) – Live; Ebuka Songs, I will pray; Esther Oji, GGTQ All Stars, Fragrance (feat. GGTQ All Stars); Neeja, S.O.N Music, Darling Jesus are the most streamed gospel tracks global and in local markets among Gen Z in Nigeria, in the last 90 days.


In the list of most streamed faith-based podcasts or gospel podcasts global and local markets, among Gen Z in Nigeria, in the last 90 days, it shows that the Gen Zs listened to Apostle Joshua Selman; The Power of Your Mind by Pastor Chris; Apostle Femi Lazarus; Morning Dews and The Daily Bible

While Judikay’s Man Of Galilee; Moses Bliss’s Too Faithful; Nathaniel Bassey’s Hallelujah Live; Ebuka Songs’s Calling My Name (I’m A Soldier); Nathaniel Bassey’s Names of God are the most streamed gospel albums in global and local markets among Gen Z in Nigeria in the last 90 days.
