Nigerian Army postpones DSSC Course 28/2024 Selection Board

The Nigerian Army has announced that it has postponed the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 28/2024 Selection Board with the exercise now rescheduled to take place from 15-28 April, 2024.

The postponement was confirmed in a statement on Monday with every other information remaining unchanged including the venue which is Headquarters 2 Division, Nigerian Army, Ibadan, Oyo State.

The Army had earlier informed the underlisted successful candidates for the DSSC Course 28/2024 Selection Board to report for the exercise on 11 March, 2024.

“The Nigerian Army wishes to direct the general public and all the shortlisted candidates to please take note and also visit recruitment.army.mil.ng for more info,” the statement read.

According to the statement, any list gotten outside the official Army website is not valid and should not be taken seriously.

Meanwhile, the Selection Exercise will involve physical, medical and academic tests as well as an oral interview for all candidates.


The Army also said that candidates will be required to produce original and duplicate copies of all academic/professional certificates including testimonials, NYSC discharge or valid Exemption Certificate as applicable in a file jacket.

“They have to produce certificate of ordination for candidates seeking Chaplain (Protestant/Roman Catholic) and certificate of Call to Bar for candidates Seeking Directorate of Legal Services,” the Army wrote.

“Candidates will be required to produce valid birth certificates as endorsed by the National Population Commission (NPC), hospital and Local Government Council of birth or valid age declaration.


“Others are Valid certificate of state of origin, Military Identity Card (military personnel only) and letter of recommendation by Commanding Officers/Commanders (military personnel only).

“The documents include letter of sponsorship tertiary academic institution (military personnel only), printed Bank Verification Number (BVN) certificate authenticated by a bank as well NIN enrolment slip and completed copies of print outs from the DSSC portal including referee forms.”

Candidates have also been warned that due to the military nature of the Exercise, the Nigerian Army shall not be liable for any injuries/deaths recorded in the course of the Selection Board.
