The Nigerian government has announced the launch of the Project 774 LG Connectivity, which will be used to create at least 300 jobs.

The Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, made the announcement on Monday.

Bosun said that Project 774, LG Connectivity, is part of the country’s plans to foster inclusive development and promote access to digital public infrastructure in government.

“The project, which will leverage the existing infrastructure of the Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) and Galaxy Backbone, will provide connectivity to all the 774 Local Government Secretariats across Nigeria,” Bosun posted on X.

He added that Project 774, LG Connectivity, will create at least 300 direct jobs.

Bosun said this would be the case as the Ministry of Communications deploys nationwide and potentially creating more jobs indirectly from the increase in digital access.

Bosun stated that it is also aligned with the Ministry’s strategic blueprint and a significant step in achieving President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s mandate to deliver efficient public service to Nigerians at the Local Government (LG) level.
