“Premised on our demonstrated ability to provide a minimum of 20 hours daily availability through an evaluation period monitored by the Regulator, we are pleased to announce approval to add 34 additional Band A feeders to our network,” IE said.

The new additional 34 feeders which were upgraded from Band B to Band A were approved following NERC’s thorough review of IE’s ability to supply 20 hours of electricity daily.

NERC last week approved an increase in the electricity tariff for customers under the Band A category.

The Vice Chairman of NERC, Musliu Oseni, said the increase will see customers paying N225 kilowatts per hour (KW/h) more than the current N66.
