Live within your means, GOC advises military officers

General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander, Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), Maj.-Gen. Abdulsalami Ibrahim, has charged officers to live within their means and avoid unnecessary competition.

He gave the advice when he received executives of Retired Army, Navy and Air Force Officers Association of Nigeria (RANAO), Plateau State chapter on occasion of a send-forth for retiring Regimental Sergeant Majors (RSMs) in Jos, Plateau State, yesterday.

Ibrahim advised the retired officers, reminding them that disengagement from service was an enviable phase in military career, which every proud and disciplined personnel should always look up to.

The GOC said the retired officers are sources of motivation to those in service and great asset to Nigeria.

Earlier, chairman of RANAO, Colonel B. M Gyang (rtd), acknowledged existing cordial relationship between security agencies and the association.

He urged officers to prepare for retirement in earnest by seeking knowledge and avoid living a “fake lifestyle.”
