The Lagos State Government has announced the launch of 15 new ferries in the Badore area of the state.

The state government, in a statement on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, said the launch of the new ferries is aimed at enhancing water transportation in alignment with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s development agenda.

The launch is coming on the back of the unveiling of the Lagos State Transport Policy held at Sheraton, Ikeja, Lagos on Tuesday.

Sanwo-Olu said that with the unveiling of the Lagos State Transport Policy, the state government is laying down a comprehensive framework that would guide the continued development and regulation of the state’s transportation sector.

He noted that the policy encompasses the integrated Multi-Modal Transport System that ensures seamless connectivity between road, rail, and water transport modes.

According to Sanwo-Olu, the policy is not just a document but it is a part of a brighter, more effective, efficient, and sustainable future for Lagos.

He added that the policy reflects the vision of the state government where transportation is no longer a challenge but a seamless experience that enhances the quality of life for all the residents.
