Kwara renovates, expands Ilorin’s Adewole Cottage Hospital

Kwara State Government begins the expansion of Adewole Cottage Hospital in Ilorin, enhancing primary health care across the region.

The Kwara State Government has announced the renovation and expansion of Adewole Cottage Hospital in Ilorin, aiming to enhance primary health care across the state.


Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, the Commissioner for Health, shared this update with the media, highlighting that the Adewole Cottage Hospital is among several approved for renovation by the state government. Despite some disruptions to services, she assured the public of ongoing quality care.

“Currently, we are unable to admit male patients as roofing work is underway in the male section,” she explained, urging the public to continue using the hospital for quality health care services.


Dr. El-Imam also mentioned that similar renovations are ongoing at other facilities, with General Hospital Patigi 95% complete and General Hospital Oro fully renovated. Additionally, Cottage Hospital Lade has been completely refurbished and equipped with solar inverters for continuous power supply.

Plans are also in place for renovations at Cottage Hospital Tsaragi, Cottage Hospital Gbale, and several others in the southern region, including General Hospital Offa and General Hospital Erin-Ile.
