KSB flag off ‘Homecoming Concert’ in Ado-Ekiti, promises Afro-Ruski vibes

King Steve Benjamin

As Nigerian/African music industry continues to make significant impact globally, fast-rising singer cum composer with an enthralling niche to always deliver some distinctive lyrical content, Steve Benjamin better known as King Steve Benjamin or KSB, has kick-started the year with what he described as ‘Homecoming Tour’.

Speaking on the tour, the 30-year old Russia-based artiste said it his way of introducing his Afro-Ruski sound to music lovers in Nigeria and Africa. “This is my home, this is where I was born, bred and have my roots. I am back and excited because it has been a while, since 2015 and I really miss home,” he said.

According to the Afro-pop musician, the musical tour which commenced yesterday in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital was a blend of Afro-Ruski vibes, which KSB promised more of as the ‘Homecoming Tour’ train makes its next stop in Lagos with a tour of the media.

“I want to give you all Russian vibes fused with afrobeats. It is something that Nigerians have never experienced and they are going to be amazed with the music,” he enthused, beaming with smile on his cheeks.

Asked if he will be collaborating with notable Nigerian artistes, KSB said it is under wraps for now but urged his fans to anticipate something major from him. He added that he was doing well in Russia where he is based and has no intentions of ‘dragging space’ with Nigerian artistes.

“I was crowned the ‘Russian king of Afrobeats’ and I like it too much to relinquish the title. My music is doing well over there, I introduced Afrobeats to Russia and I can confidently tell you that when Russia hosted the world cup then, international TV and radio stations came looking for me and asked how I was able to successfully introduce and sell Afrobeats to the Russians so well. I simply told them I am an Ekiti boy and there is nothing we cannot do,” he said.
