Kogi Assembly confirms two commissioner nominees, 50 special advisers

The Kogi State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of two Commissioner nominees sent to the house by the Executive Governor of the State Ahmed Usman Ododo.

The eight Assembly confirmed the Commissioner nominees on Tuesday during the house plenary in Lokoja.

The Commissioner nominees confirmed by the hallow chamber include Dr Adeniyi Helen Aderibigbe, (Ijumu) and Atuluku Levi Victor, from Omala LGA.

Speaking to journalists shortly after she was confirmed on Tuesday, Dr Adeniyi Helen Aderibigbe promised to put in her best to realize the campaign promises of the present administration.


Aderibigbe reiterates her commitment to making Kogi State and Nigeria proud through hard work and diligence in her duties.

“As the name of my ministry implies innovation, so the first thing to be brought in is innovation. We will review what is on ground. Actually, is a new ministry, but is not a strange ministry.

“There has been precedent as it regards the ministry. We will study what is on ground, take our own review, see areas that improvement has to be put in. If there is need for change, we will change. If there is need for restructuring we will restructure.


“That is the innovation aspect of it, which will encourage the scientific approach to almost every issues that is on ground. We will study every problem on ground, then we device means of providing solution for the problem. For us this are the technology aspect of it. I want to see Kogi State that other State will be emulating in term of technological improvement.”

The Assembly also approved the request of the governor for appointment of 50 special advisers to serve under the Government of Kogi State.

Ododo had written to the house to approve his request for appointment of 50 special advisers to work in his cabinet.
