Julz Zittas, Mephyz unite musical forces in Leviticus

In an era where music duos are slowly making a comeback in Afrobeats, foremost rap J-town maverick Julz Zittas and Port Harcourt-based singer Mephyz, have united for an outstanding new record dubbed, Leviticus.


The 7-tracker album spins off with a vibrancy that boosts its replay value, while showcasing the unique individual qualities of both rising musicians. The record begins fully with ‘Superman’, the project’s lead single which sees Mephyz and Julz Zittas ode to their thriving industriousness as creative artists.

“Essentially, it encapsulates the belief that, akin to Superman, there’s confidence in the ability to navigate and handle anything,” they expressed.

Julz Zittas, a rap/Hip-Hop artiste originating from Langtang-North local government in the central zone of Plateau state, has consistently used music as a medium to narrate his journey, share insights, and foster a visionary community. Throughout his evolving career, Julz Zittas has launched two solo projects: “THE GENESIS EP” in 2016 and “EXODUS”: THE VIBES TAPE” in 2021, accompanied by numerous other singles.

MEPHYZ, an innovative recording artist deeply immersed in the captivating blend of Alte and Afro genres within the dynamic realm of Afrobeats, originates from the musical city of Port Harcourt.

Commencing his journey as a rapper, MEPHYZ subsequently transitioned into a secular singer, embracing the opportunity to explore and unleash his complete musical prowess. Armed with self-taught production and engineering skills, he has been forging his distinct path in the music industry since 2021. This marked the release of his debut body of work, “ULTRA MATTER,” a reflective and genre-defying project that garnered widespread attention from music enthusiasts.

His exceptional abilities as a producer, artist, and engineer did not go unnoticed, leading to a pivotal moment in his career when he was featured on Erigga’s 2022 EP, “Before the Chaos.” This collaboration showcased MEPHYZ’s versatility and his aptitude for excelling in various roles within the music-making process.
