Iwobi, Nwabali, eight others arrive Nigeria camp for Ghana, Mali friendlies

Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey, Nathan Tella, Moses Simon, and Stanley Nwabali are among the 10 players who have arrived the Super Eagles camp ahead of their friendly games against Ghana and Mali.


The other five players already in camp are Semi Ajayi, Jamilu Collins, Bruno Onyemaechi, Cyriel Dessers, and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.

More players are expected to arrive at the team’s camp later today (Tuesday) for the games which will be held in Marrakech, Morocco.

The Eagles will take on bitter rivals Ghana on Friday, 22 March before facing Mali on Tuesday, 26 March.


Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, will not feature for the Eagles due to injury. Empoli right-back, Tyronne Ebuehi, is also out because of injury.

The Eagles are using both friendly games to prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers which will resume in June.

After two games in the World Cup qualifiers, the Eagles are third in Group C on two points.


Rwanda top the group on four points and South Africa occupy second place on three points.
